Hello,
Any women on this board have suggestions on suits which aren't wool but are stylish and well fitting. I'm allergic to wool and always find the non wool suits to look very summery or poor quality. Thanks in advance!

Just need some advice on whether suits with these sort of patterns are acceptable to wear or are they a no-no?
The patterns are quite subtle but I'm not sure if they'll be seen as too 'fashionable' and not business-like.
If it makes any difference this is for a soon to be 1st year analyst.
All advice would be much appreciated!
I have a first round interview with one of the MBBs in a few weeks (and hopefully will get more), but I have no idea what to wear. This forum is full of posts about men’s attire, but what about women? A jacket/pants suit? Skirt/blouse/jacket? I have a non-business background so I really have no idea what the expected norm for women is.
Thanks
I am taking a photo tomorrow for my b-school CV book. Do you guys think companies notice (give a crap), about what tie knot you have?
Any suggestions?
I know there are some old threads that address shirts but I wanted to start a fresh discussion. I usually wear BB Slim Fit non-irons which are generally great but I'd like to spruce up my botton down collection. I really like cool patterns/textures that aren't toooo wild. I have worn Charles Tyrwhitt but none of their fits are great for me. Any other suggestions for some other brands? Haven't ever worn Thomas Pink but I may spring for a few.
Is a Ralph Lauren suit separate suit OK for an interview? Macy's has a sale and I'm strapped for cash.
Navy-ish with matching black shoes and black belt?
It fits perfectly.
anyone here have or had dental braces while they were going through recruiting? i might have to and completely honest, i feel like they may hurt me. Because banking/consulting are such presentable and somewhat superficial cultures, a mouth full of metal wouldnt be so ideal. Any thoughts? thanks.
Hey guys--
What are your thoughts on the following suit/shirt/tie combination? I am concerned about matching a navy suit with a striped navy tie.
Suit (BB Fitzgerald, solid midnight navy)

Tie (Navy, white stripes)

Shirt is white.
Thanks, guys.
Is wearing a 3 piece suit okay for a summer intern or is that one of the unspoken MUST NOT?
I realise there's quite a few differences with office fashion conventions between US and London/Europe. I'm talking about in London if it makes a differences..
Please read in the WSO User Guidelines in detail before posting to WSO.
So I like dressing formal, yet conservative. No American flag cufflinks, American flag suspenders, or American flag pocket squares.
On the first day I came in wearing dress pants without belt loops. Pants had suspender buttons and silk braces. I was told to change and come back on account of the braces.
Second day I was told to remove my plain, white pocket square and ruby cufflinks.
Third day I was told to remove plain silver cufflinks, and the supervisor commented that my suits were "too well tailored" and that he could supply me with a gift card to buy factory "sack" suits at the local department store.
This might not be the place to post but I can't be bothered trawling around fashion forums and it seems that most things can be found here.
Does anyone know any good places to buy jeans online? I prefer seven jeans but any sites with a good range of brands would be good. Many thanks.
How do I know if I have to file quarterly individual estimated tax payments?
So I've been fortunate to line up a few interviews, and as a result I've been shopping around for some new dress shoes (my old ones are way too cheap).
The 5th Ave line is 230 right now on AE, and a pretty good deal. It looks just like the Park Ave, but with a little decoration on the cap.

I was going to buy it, but I was talking to an analyst friend from Qatalyst who told me to stick with Park Aves and avoid anything flashy at all. He told me a dick associate gave him shit for it, and that it's better to go as conservative as possible.
Hey,
I found out about this store a little bit ago. I was a little skeptical, but really like the pants and dress shirts. I have a few of the suit pants, and wear them to the office.
I don't work for this company, but I do get a referral bonus.
You get $25 off your first order. If you live in one of the major cities that have a store and want to get stuff, PM me and I can explain how you can get 50 off your first order.
Please compare these two MTM suit brands. I am trying to find the best quality/price/customer service place to order a suit from.
Thanks.
I am getting ready for interviews this week and I had a question about a slim fit suit. I am fairly short (5'7) and very thin (120lbs) and young looking. I own "normal" fitting suits and have even went to the tailor and spent a good deal of money trying to achieve a nice fit. Every time I see myself in the suit it just looked off but I couldn't tell why and the tailors I went to said they fit very well.
Anybody buy any shoes during their recent sale?
I bought a few cedar hangers last night on sale, and got some really good deals at a Nordstrom Rack:
5th Ave Black
Firenze Loafer Black
Patriot Loafer Black
Verona Loafer Black
For a hair over $400. Very rarely do I splurge like this, but I am on an AE kick! Plus the prices were great.
Does anybody own the New Haven shoes? They are like the 5th Avenues but have a rubber sole... I almost bought them in black and brown last night, but wasnt sure if I should just hold out for the Park Avenues. I like the rubber sole for durability, and I liked that they were 130 less than the Park Ave's lol. Also, I would be repping my home city. I was looking for work-horse shoes, if that makes sense.

I just graduated from undergrad this year, and landed a nice job on wall street. I had a pretty crappy haircut in college, and I really have to up my game. I want to dye my hair and get a solid cut. Anyone know any good spots in NYC (any neighborhood) where I can get a solid cut and get my hair dyed? Thanks.
I'm wondering is it okay to wear formal high end belts such as (Hermes,Louis Vuitton) and High end watch ( rolex) or do they prefer you keep it simple ? I like to be fashionable and like make a good impression would this make a difference ?
