With a dark suit, are you pretty much forbidden from wearing anything but a white/blue dress shirt underneath? I like the look of a dark gray suit + black shirt with a gray or black tie, but I've heard this is a huge no, especially for people new to the industry.
Are different colored shirts something you have to work your way for? Would a new hire be silly to wear anything but a white or blue undershirt?

What do you guys think about the below loafers? I found the dark brown on sale for $200 and they fit great. My shop is business casual so i think they would be okay for work and versatile enough to wear out at night. What does everyone think? Would be a definite yes if they were the black but the brown is extremely dark in real life and somewhat difficult to tell that it is not black

Hi, just want to find out if having dreadlocks will reduce my chances when it comes to getting a job in the finance industry. Is there any professional here with dreadlocks? I keep them very clean and neat, tied back.
Anyone buy from Men's Warehouse? Do they have a decent line of suits? I haven't bought a suit from them before, but the 2for1 seems like a decent deal.

I am getting ready for interviews this week and I had a question about a slim fit suit. I am fairly short (5'7) and very thin (120lbs) and young looking. I own "normal" fitting suits and have even went to the tailor and spent a good deal of money trying to achieve a nice fit. Every time I see myself in the suit it just looked off but I couldn't tell why and the tailors I went to said they fit very well.
I'm a huge fan of Bonobos. Great fit, great prices, great colors, great service.
Now the ladies over at Quincy Apparel are making some noise in professional/corporate attire for women.

Bonobos pants just fit better. Quincy is trying to bring that same approach to the ladies in our banking lives.
I never understood why my pants, suits, shirts came in sizes matched to my dimensions but women had to suffer under 2, 4, 6, 8, 10...

The BB outlet has the 346 100% wool suit for $275.00, I can get the JAB signature suit for about $200 (plus alterations) and the Signature Gold for about $300.00 (plus alterations) Which one is of better quality. I understand high quality suits, but my budget does not support that right now.

Next Friday I'm attending the Goldman Sachs Pride Summit where I'm able to visit GS headquarters and learn more about the firm. I'm just wondering, what should I wear to this one-day event? Full suit? Khakis and collared shirt? with or without tie?

Longines is currently selling something similar, but they moved the date down to the 6 oclock position, and I really dislike it.

I have two questions:
1. What is the dress code for an open house event held at the company headquarter? Is business casual okay?
2. Is it wrong to wear a black suit to interviews? I've heard that black is not considered business attire and some people can get dinged for wearing black.
What does everyone think of Scott Disick's haircut? I think that it's balling, but would it be appropriate for a 1st year analyst? What do you ask for? Is it best to bring a picture to the barber?

Surprisingly, overachievers are affected in particular and often have difficulties performing group work or team projects.
In grad school one of my fellow class mates called me out during a team meeting, yelling at me: “Dude, stop being such a perfectionist and submit the damn paper, we already past the deadline for the team project”. In fact we already finished the paper two days ago, but I spend the whole day making adjustments.
I have a sell weekend coming up - and one of the evening activities says "hip cocktail" attire. Is this just a dark suit with no tie? Thanks!
On Monday GS is coming to my school for a corporate presentation with an hour networking session afterwards. I was just wondering if a black suit would be okay to wear to an event like this? If need be, I can just run out this weekend and buy a navy/charcoal suit. The downside to that is that I wouldn't have time to get it tailored.

So I finally got that first job in finance and I'll be moving to NYC next year. However, I feel like my wardrobe is sorely lacking. In college I hung around the hipster crowd (believe it or not) and I don't think my hipster jeans or shirts will cut it for new york nightlife (thankfully, I do have a nice suit and good business casual attire).
So I guess I'm asking for fashion advice. I got a pretty good signing bonus so I can splurge a bit.
